There are frequent and comfortable shuttles run by Havaş between the airport and Taksim. The shuttle stop will be indicated inside the airport. The fare costs 10 TL. You can then take a taxi to the hotel or see below for public transportation.
By Public Transportation
; For those who prefer to mingle among locals, take the metro at the airport going to Aksaray. Change at Zeytinburnu for the tramway going to Kabataş or Eminönü. Leave at the station Sirkeci.
This journey will cost you between 3 to 5 euros. Mind that during the rush hours, the tramway may get very crowded and although it has air conditioning, it might get very hot in Summer.

By tramway
;Concerning public transportation, the tramway comes closest to Hotel, either leave at Sirkeci Station or Gülhane Station.
Once arrived at the station Sirkeci, leave the sea to your back and follow the road with the tramway tracks (Muradiye Caddesi) for about 120 meters until you arrive at a crossing. Take the first road left to the road with the tramway line (Nöbethane Caddesi), Gulhanepark Hotel is at the end of the street. Once arrived at Gülhane station, follow the street down until it diverges in two. Take the road on the right, without the tramway tracks (Taya Hatun Cadd.), then take the first road on the left (Darüssade Sokak) and walk until you find Gulhanepark Hotel at the corner, on the right side.
By boat, bus or dolmuş (shared taxi)

Dolmabahce Palace
Distance 3 km

Located along the coast of the Bosphorus in Besiktas, 300 yards from the Besiktas ferry-boat quay, this palace is the grandest imperial Ottoman residence. It was constructed by the Armenian architects Karabet and Nikogos Balyan for Sultan Abdulmecid (1839-61) who, preferring a more modern residence, decided to move out of the Topkapi Palace. The construction of this sumptuous palace was finished in 1853, and the royal family abandoned the imperial residence of Topkapi which had served as a home for the Ottoman household for almost four centuries. Golden Horn (Haliç)
Distance 1 km

This horn-shaped estuary, divides European Istanbul. One of the best natural harbors in the world, the Byzantine and Ottoman navies and commercial shipping interests were centered here. Today, lovely parks and promenades line the shores where the setting sun dyes the water a golden color. In Fener and Balat, neighbourhoods midway up the Golden Horn, whole streets of old wooden houses, churches, and synagogues date from Byzantine and Ottoman times.

The Orthodox Patriarchy resides here at Fener. Eyup, a little further up, reflects the Ottoman style of vermicular architecture. Cemeteries sprinkled with dark cypress trees cover the hillsides.

Egyptian Bazaar - Spice Market
Distance 600 m
Located just behind the Yeni Mosque in Eminonu, the Spice Bazaar was built in 1660 by the architect Kazim Aga at the behest of Sultan Turhan. It gains its Turkish name, Misir Carsisi (Egyptian Bazaar), from the fact that it once received income from taxes levied on Egypt. The English name hails from the days when the Bazaar specialized in the sale of herbs and spices, medicinal plants, and drugs. While the color and aroma pervading the covered hallway may since have faded to some extent, a small number of shops do still stock the traditional products. In addition, you will find sacks and shelves groaning with..
